It’s been another great year for iOS gamers, as 2019 saw the release of a number of new and exciting games for Apple’s mobile platform. From puzzle games to RPGs and everything in between, there was something for everyone.
For those looking for a more traditional gaming experience, Apple Arcade was the perfect place to find some of the best mobile games of 2019. Among the highlights were Frogger in Toy Town, a charming and inventive take on the classic arcade game, and Sayonara Wild Hearts, a dreamy and atmospheric action-adventure.
But there were plenty of other great games to be found in the App Store too. For puzzle fans, The Room: Old Sins was an excellent choice, while Grindstone was a unique and addictive match-3 game. For those looking for immersing RPGs, both Cat Quest II and Ashen were excellent picks.
Shooters had a great year too, with Call of Duty: Mobile, Fortnite, and Shadowgun Legends all providing hours of intense action. If you prefer something a bit more laid-back, you could always try the critically-acclaimed Donut County, a delightful and irreverent physics-based puzzler.
2019 also saw the release of a few innovative indie games, such as Uppercup Soccer, a unique take on the traditional soccer game, and Mini Motorways, a clever and addictive puzzle-strategy game.
